The youngest adult generation (Survivors), by nearly a 3 to 1 margin
over Builders, express a preference for worship which is Contemporary and Informal.
This preference is shared by Boomers to a lesser degree. The data clearly indicates a
strong relationship between youth and preference for Contemporary/Informal worship. Among
those respondents who express a preference there is greatest agreement across generations
for a combination of both traditional and contemporary worship. Curiously, when asked
whether they prefer Traditional/Formal or Contemporary/Informal worship style, over 48% of
Builders indicate No Preference/Not Interested, nearly a 3 to 1 margin compared to
Survivors.
